Start-in-gear protection device adjustment
(MH models)
1. Check:
9 Start-in-gear protection device opera-
tion
Incorrect → Adjust.
2. Adjust:
9 Start-in-gear protection device cable

Adjusting steps:
8 Set the shift lever in the neutral posi-
tion.
8 Loosen the locknut 1.
8 Adjust the start-in-gear protection
device cable adjusting nut 2 so that
the point on the wire connector 3
aligns with the mark a on the fly-
wheel cover.
8 Tighten the locknut.
NOTE:
Shift the shift lever into neutral and make
sure the starter can be pulled. If it cannot
be pulled, repeat the above procedure.
