APPENDIX M: Upgrading an AF-3000/4000 to an AF-6600
If you are upgrading an existing AF-3000 or AF-4000 to the AF-6600 or AF-5000 system, you will
need to do the following:
1. Install the new Dynon SV ADAHRS-200 and/or SV-ADAHRS-201 using the instructions in this
manual. You will need to run Pitot and Static lines to the new ADAHRS. You will also need to
install and wire the new OAT sensor to the new ADAHRS. The new ADAHRS will wire to the
AF-6600/5000 EFIS using the new SV-Network cable connected to the EFIS DSUB-15 AUX
connector.
a. Van’s sells a Dynon ADAHRS mounting bracket for the RV-10 and RV-7/9
b. Glasair sells a Dynon ADAHRS mounting bracket for the Sportsman that mounts
behind the rear baggage bulkhead. The new bracket gets bonded and blind riveted
to the top of the composite fuselage. DO NOT DRILL THROUGH THE FUSELAGE
TOP SKIN.
Install the new part number 71714 external TCW EFIS backup battery using the instructions in
this manual.
2. Replace any old Garmin GPS-18 GPS with a new Dynon SV-GPS-250 or SV-GPS-2020
3. Remove the serial port #4 wires from the old AF-3000/4000 DSUB-9 connector and install them
into the new DSUB-15 Auxiliary connector using the following pins.
