Lesson 1 – Analog Modules
105
Two Models of Multi-site Baseband Analog Modules
 • Multi-site baseband analog source & measure
(software identifier for the module: MCA)
– Contains four Source Units (software identifier for the unit:
SRCA) and four Measure Units (software identifier for the unit:
MESA).
The source units have the AWG functions and the measure units
have the digitizer functions.
 • Multi-site baseband analog measure
(software identifier for the module: MCA, which is used for the
two models)
– Contains eight Measure Units (MESA), and no source unit. The
eight measure units and the four measure units in the
source&measure module are the same units.
In the two models (the multi-site baseband analog source &
measure and the multi-site baseband analog measure), the
hardware is the same except for units 1 through 4. That is, the
four MESAs as units 5 through 8 and the module base section
(which is the analog module hardware except the eight units) are
the same.
Each source unit contains one audio/video AWG core. Each
measure unit contains one video digitizer core or two audio
digitizer cores.
All eight units in a module can be used simultaneously. This
parallel operation is performed by the hardware controller in each
unit.
