Layout Conventions
Most of the layout and typographical conventions used in the
study material are self explanatory. Let us just point out the
following:
• Elements shown on the screen (for example buttons, edit boxes,
menu items) are printed in small capitals:
“the S
ELECT menu”
• User input is printed using a typewriter font:
“Enter <Agilent93000_BASE_DIR>/pws/bin/hp93000 -
o”
• Instructions are given as step-by-step procedures. The individual
steps are numbered:
1 First do this ...
2 Then do that ...
Use this column for
taking notes.
• Feel free to use the margin column for your own notes.
