Lesson 5 – Waveform Generation with the Mixed-Signal Tool
244
How to Use the Waveform Equation Tool
The Waveform Equation tool requires that you enter a
mathematical formula which describes the desired waveform.
Waveform Equation Input Window and Result
To set up a waveform:
1 Fill in T:= number to start from
2 Fill in T<= running through
3 Fill in T+= in steps of (increment)
The total number of points is calculated automatically.
4 Enter the equation that defines the waveform.
The Mixed-Signal Tool can interpret a variety of mathematical
operators (+, –, *, /) and functions (such as sin, cos, atan, tanh,
ramp, sq, sqrt, and more).
5 Before clicking DONE, check the OPERATION and OUTPUT VALUES
settings which have been explained above.
How to Use the Point-by-Point Editor Tool
The Point-by-Point Editor tool requires that you enter a numerical
value for each waveform point to be generated.
To generate a waveform point by point:
1 Type integer or real numbers.
