2 Select the Analog Clock Source
To choose the internal clock boards of the analog card cages, select
INT. To choose the Alternate Master Clock as the clock source for
the analog clock domain, select AMC.
The selected source provides the clock signal to all analog modules
in the analog domain. The clock sources have different
characteristics in terms of clock signal quality, but the setup
procedure and setup options are identical for both types of clock
sources.
3 Select the Instrument (analog module)
Select the analog module you want to set up in the analog clock
domain.
4 Select the Clock Domain
Choose the Analog Domain.
You can also set up some of the modules in the Digital Domain, if
desired.
5 Select the Clock Mode
In Auto mode, the Clock Value (= clock frequency) of the analog
clock source will be calculated by the software according to the
selected rule for each analog module.
In Fixed mode, you must enter the desired Clock Value. It will not
be changed by the software.
The calculated or entered clock value for the analog clock source
will be applied to all analog modules in the analog domain.
6 If you have set the Clock Mode to Fixed, enter the Clock Value.
The clock value must be in the range 200 - 500 MHz.
This range applies to both clock sources AMC and INT.
7 Specify the desired sample frequency Fs
The Fs you enter must be in the valid range of the analog module.
The sampling frequency Fs of an analog module is derived by
dividing the master clock frequency with the on-board frequency
divider of the module.
For the given Fs, the software calculates the integer divisor N (Fs
= Clock Value/N). The valid range for N depends on the capabilities
