ELECTRONIC THREADING AND RIGID TAPPING.
Withdraw the axes after interrupting an electronic threading (G233).

Programming. Define the block to resume the block to resume
execution after pressing [START].
To resume execution, press the [START] key; execution resumes at the next block where
function G233 is programmed alone.
Operation.
The option to withdraw the axes when interrupting a threading operation depends on the
configuration of the machine (parameter RETRACTTHREAD).
When the feature is enabled (parameter RETRACTTHREAD), the CNC behaves as follows
when interrupting a threading operation ([STOP] key or PLC mark _FEEDHOL).
• If G233 is active, the axis perpendicular to threading withdraws the programmed distance
from the part. The threading axis withdraws the necessary distance as not to damage
the thread while maintaining the pitch.
• If G233 is active, and when interrupting the threading the pass is near the end, the CNC
ignores G233 and stops the axes at the end of the pass.
• If G233 is not active, the axes stop at the end of the pass.
Feedrate of the axes.
The axis perpendicular to threading withdraws from the part at the feedrate set in parameter
MAXFEED of the active set. The threading axis maintains the pitch.
Considerations and limitations.
G233 with several G33/G34 functions in a row.
Function G233 sets the thread exit distance for all G33/G34 threads programmed after it.
If there are several G33/G34 functions in a row and a different thread exit is desired for each
one of them, the corresponding G233 function must be programmed betore each one of
them.
Thread blending.
If there are several threads in a row (thread blending), function G233 considers all of them
completed.
Threading canned cycles, ISO and conversational (-T- model).
Function G233 is only applied in electronic threading G33/G34; it is ignored in threading
canned cycles, both ISO and conversational, because it is implicit in the cycles, programmed
as thread exit.
• In canned cycles where a thread exit has been programmed, the withdrawal distance for
the axis perpendicular to the threading is calculated automatically and corresponds to
the value of that thread exit of each pass.
• In cycles where the thread exit has not been programmed, the behavior depends on
parameter RETRACTTHREAD.
Once the tool has withdrawn the programmed distance, it returns to the starting point of the
cycle. The machine waits for the CYCLE START command to repeat the aborted pass.
RETRACTTHREAD Meaning.
ON The CNC behavior depends on function G233.
OFF The CNC ignores function G233 and stops the axes at the end of the
threading operation.
RETRACTTHREAD Meaning.
ON The tool withdraws to the safety coordinate, perpendicularly to the
threading axis (just the same as when having a thread exit).
OFF The axes stop at the end of the pass.
