ELECTRONIC THREADING AND RIGID TAPPING.
10.
Withdraw the axes after interrupting an electronic threading (G233).
·191·
(REF: 1709)
10.4 Withdraw the axes after interrupting an electronic threading
(G233).
Function G233 may be used to program the safety distance that the axes will withdraw when
interrupting a threading operation (G33/G34) either with the [STOP] key or from the PLC
(mark _FEEDHOL). In the threading canned cycles (G86/G87 of the -T- model) this function
is ignored because it is implicit when programming the cycle.
This feature is particularly interesting in very long threads where it may be necessary to
interrupt the threading operation either because the tool broke or because the machining
is not right; for example due to vibrations on the work piece.
Programming. Defining and canceling the safety distance for
thread exit.
To define a safety distance, program function G233 and then the distance on each axis.
To cancel the safety distance on an axis, define a safety distance of zero on the axis.
To cancel the function, program it alone in the block or define a zero distance on all axes
where it is active. In either case, function G233 disappears from the history.
Programming format. Defining a safety distance.
The programming format is the following; the list of arguments appears between curly
brackets.
G233 X..Z{distance}
Programming format. Canceling the safety distance on an axis.
The programming format is:
G233 X0..Z0
Programming format. Deactivate the function.
The programming format is:
G233
G233 X0..Z0
Function G233 alone in the block also indicates the point where execution will resume after
pressing [START].
Thread exit distance on the axis perpendicular to the threading operation.
The safety distance is only defined on the axis perpendicular to the threading operation; it
is ignored on the rest of the axes. On outside longitudinal threads will be a positive distance
and on inside ones it will be a negative distance.
On taper threading, the threading axis will be the one on which the pitch has been defined.
This feature must be enabled by the OEM in the machine parameters (parameter RETRACTTHREAD);
otherwise, when interrupting the execution while threading (using the [STOP] key or the PLC mark
_FEEDHOL) the axes always stop at the end of the pass.
