13.1.1 Location code (shape or type) of the turning tools

The location code indicates the type of tool and the sides used to calibrate it. The location

code depends on the position of the tools and on the orientation of the machine axes.

The next example shows the location code F3 on different machines. Observe how the CNC

keeps the relative position of the tool with respect to the axes.
