#SERVO ON [axis/spindle]
The loop of each axis or spindle must be opened separately.
Considerations for programming the loops
Function M19 involves always working in closed loop. Functions M3, M4 and M5 work in open
loop by default , but they can also work in closed loop when programming a spindle
synchronization or the instruction #SERVO ON .
When a spindle becomes a C axis or is interpolated with the rest of the axes (for rigid tapping,
for example) does not lose its open-loop or closed-loop condition that it had. When done with
these instructions, the previous situation is restored.
On power-up, the spindle is set in open loop. After executing an M30 or reset, the CNC opens
the loop and cancels the instruction #SERVO ON, except when the reset is for the master
spindle of a synchronization (which could be in a different channel from that of the slave);
in that case, the synchronization is not canceled and it does not switch to open loop. This
case issues a warning message.
Parameter Meaning
axis/spindle Name of the axis or spindle.
#SERVO OFF [S]
It cancels the closed loop of spindle S.
#SERVO OFF [Z2]
The Z2 axis switches to open loop mode.
