Automating Measurements
NOTE
This chapter assumes that you are familiar with the information provided in the Programmer’s Guide
(supplied with your analyzer) and the HP instrument b!4S/C User’s Handhuk (supplied with Option lC2
analyzers).
NOTE
This chapter explains how to control your analyzer with either the internal IBASIC option LlC2) or with
an external controller connected via HP-IB. If you have ordered the LAN option flF71, you have the
additional capability of controlling the analyzer over a LAN. Refer to the User’s Guide Supp’ement fur
Op0iin IF7 for information.
An automated measurement system is a system where a computer performs
some of the tasks that you would normally have to do manually.
The information in this chapter will help you learn about how to automate
your measurement system. Several features of the instrument that are useful
for automation are explained.
