VLAN User
A VLAN User is a module that uses services of the VLAN management
functionality to configure VLAN memberships and VLAN port configuration such
as PVID, UVID. Currently we support following VLAN :
- CLI/Web/SNMP : This are reffered as static.
- NAS : NAS provides port-based authentication, which involves
communications between a Supplicant, Authenticator, and an Authentication
Server.
- MVR : MVR is used to eliminate the need to duplicate multicast traffic for
subscribers in each VLAN. Multicast traffic for all channels is sent only on a
single (multicast) VLAN.
- Voice VLAN : Voice VLAN is a VLAN configured specially for voice traffic
typically originating from IP phones.
- MSTP : The 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree protocol (MSTP) uses VLANs to
create multiple spanning trees in a network, which significantly improves
network resource utilization while maintaining a loop-free environment.

4.6.8 Private VLAN
The Private VLAN membership configurations for the switch can be monitored and modified here. Private VLANs can be added
or deleted here. Port members of each Private VLAN can be added or removed here.
Private VLANs are based on the source port mask, and there are no connections to VLANs. This means that VLAN IDs and
Private VLAN IDs can be identical.
A port must be a member of both a VLAN and a Private VLAN to be able to forward packets. By default, all ports are VLAN
unaware and members of VLAN 1 and Private VLAN 1.
A VLAN unaware port can only be a member of one VLAN, but it can be a member of multiple Private VLANs.
The Private VLAN screen in Figure 4-6-6 appears.
