Filament
Curr
Indicates a problem with the fila-
ment control regulator circuit volt-
age.
1. Access Service Configuration
menu and verify the correct tube is
selected.
2. Check for +48 VDC on Power Sup-
ply Board A6 (AY40-005T) TP3.
3. Check that Fuse F1 on Interface
Board A9 (AY40-023T) is not open.
If so, replace F1.
4. On Filament Control Board A5
(AY40-007T), verify fuse F1 is not
open. If so, replace F1. (If fuse
blows again after replacement,
replace Filament Control Board
A5.
5. Connect DMM to TP11 on Fila-
ment Control Board A5 and
ground. With system on, the meter
should measure +24 VDC. Select
a small filament mA station and
press PREP. The meter should
measure 0 VDC. If either of these
tests fail, replace Filament Control
Board A5.
6. If none of the above steps solve
the problem, replace KVP Control
Board A2 (AY40-003S).
7. If replacing KVP Control Board
does not correct problem, replace
Filament Control Board A5 (AY40-
007T).
8. If replacing Filament Control Board
does not correct problem, replace
Logic Board A1 (AY40-006S).
Filament
Prog
The filtered Filament Amps are
outside of preset limits at any
time. Indicates that there is a
problem with either:
1. D-A circuit on the KVP Control
Board A2.
2. Filament Control Board A5
(AY40-007T) regulator A-D.
1. Verify -15 VDC at TP5 on Power
Supply Board A6 (AY40-005T).
2. Replace KVP Control Board A2
(AY40-003S).
3. Check fuse F8 on Interface Board
A9 (AY40-023T).
4. Check for loose connector A6P2.
