1. If system is non-high speed starter
configuration (i.e., no high speed
starter is installed), verify the rotor
selected in the Service/Config/
Rotor is not set to "AID HSS" or
"QMI HSS". If so, change to cor-
rect setting.
2. Verify High Speed Starter is prop-
erly connected. If equipped with
QMI internal high speed starter,
verify following connections are
good:
• J2-8 on HSS Control Board
A20A1 (AY40-035S) and J8-8
on Logic Board A1 (AY40-
006S)
• J2-9 on HSS Control Board
A20A1 and J8-9 on Logic
