Upper Module
Introduction
This procedure describes how to re-assemble the upper module when replacing the
touch screen panel.
NOTE: Always be careful to avoid leaving fingerprints on the inside of the touch
screen panel and on the LCD display.
NOTE:
NOTE: When handling the disk drive do not touch the small silver plate on the
outside of the disk drive. This may damage the drive.
Replacing
copper cloth
tape
Follow these steps to replace the copper cloth grounding tape between the housing
bracket and the LCD display.
NOTE: When using the cloth copper tape ensure that there are no frayed ends or
loose fibers as these may cause shorting if contact is made with an inappropriate
surface.
Step Action
1.
Cut two pieces of copper cloth tape, p/n 993-081, 6.25 inches long.
2.
Take one piece of cut tape and place lengthwise along the long edge
of the bottom of the housing bracket, between the two square
standoffs. Place tape so that approximately ¼” of the width of the tape
extends past the edge of the bracket.
3.
Fold the piece of tape backwards, so that the sticky side is now facing
out.
4.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the opposite edge of the housing bracket.
