Interface Board
Introduction
Follow these steps to install the interface board as shown in Figure 7-32.
NOTE:
When the CPU is disconnected from the coin cell battery on the interface board,
the system BIOS looses it settings and they must be re-programmed when the
analyzer is re-assembled. See Chapter 4; Reprogramming the CPU BIOS settings.
Step Action
1.
Insert the printer data cable into the interface board J2 connector.
2.
Insert the interface board onto the CPU board as indicated below.
3.
Align the 10-pin and 26-pin sockets on the interface board with the
10-pin and 26-pin right angle headers on the front left side of the
CPU. Press firmly on the interface board until the socket is flush.
4.
Insert the coin cell battery into the battery holder with the positive (+)
side facing out.
5.
Connect the barcode reader / keyboard cable to the red 4-pin
connector on the interface board.
6.
Follow the steps in Chapter 4; Reprogramming the CPU BIOS
settings.
7.
Restart the analyzer.
8.
Reset the date and time under the Options menu.
NOTE: When resetting the date always change the year first
otherwise the CMOS will not record the month or day change.
