8. Switching on the compressed air supply:
Switch on the compressed air supply for the system.
9. Closing the protective doors:
Close all protective doors on the front and rear sides of the system.
10. Switching on the system:
Switch on the power supply for the system.
NOTICE
If a Silver Server from Roche PVT is used for communication with the LIS, switch this on first.

11. Logging on:
You can log on once the system has started. The cobas p 512 performs a system test.

12. Performing a 'Clear data' reorganization:
Execute a reorganization procedure by selecting the submenu 'Routine ▶ Clear data'. All
data such as sorting lists and order files are archived (stored into another directory). Data
older than the time span included within the configured number of 'Archive days' will be
deleted! The archive rack positions are also reset.
NOTICE
The tube transport system is cleared later, after pressing the [Run] button.
13. Selecting the work cycle (optional):
The system starts automatically with the standard work cycle. If you would like to execute
another work cycle (for example, archive), then go to the submenu 'Routine ▶ Control',
press the [Work cycle] button and then select the required work cycle in the window that
opens.

14. Starting sample processing:
In the submenu 'Routine ▶ Control', press the [Run] button. Next, the tube transport is
cleared and, if necessary, left-over tubes from past days are sorted into an error rack.
