Barcode scanner
The barcode scanner is located in the same enclosure as the cap/tube recognition unit. The
barcode scanner reads the barcode from the tube label. The inquiry processing for this
sample is performed after the barcode has been read. (Tests are requested by the laboratory
host computer.) If it was not possible to read the barcode or the sample could not be
recognized, the tube is sorted into an error rack.
