MAINTENANCE
Fuel System
!
Gasoline is very fl ammable under certain conditions
You must be extremely careful when dealing with
gasoline.
When refueling, the engine must be shut off and must
be done outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
At or near the refueling or gasoline storage location.
No smoking, no open fl ames or sparks.
Do not overfl ow when refueling. Do not ll the tank to
the neck.
If gasoline gets on your skin or clothes, wash them
with soap and water immediately and change clothes.
Fuel Filter
Symptoms of a restricted fuel tank vent include the
following: collapsing fuel tank, engine miss or hesitation,
loss of engine performance or high exhaust temperatures.

The fuel filter [A] is located behind the passenger
seat and can be seen by removing the passenger
seat and the maintenance cover behind it. The fuel
lter [B] is located on the left under the driver's seat,
visible when the driver's seat is removed.
Locate and inspect the in-line filter. Note the
direction of the arrow on the fi lter if removed.
If there is debris visible in the fi lter, replace it.
Be sure to install the lter in the orientation shown
in the previous photo.
Check the fuel tank vent line for signs of wear,
deterioration or damage. Replace vent line if
necessary.
Be sure the vent line is routed properly and secured
with cable tie(s).
Make sure vent line is not kinked or pinched.
