10.4 Current limits
Description
The motor current and current limits can be used to draw conclusions regarding
various system states:
10.4.1 Device parameters
Response to residual current violation
(can be parameterized for standard and high feature motor starters)
The residual current detection reacts when motor current becomes lower than
18.75% of the rated operating current in all 3 phases.
This device parameter configures how the motor starter responds to residual
current detection:
Warning
Tripping
Caution
When the motor is switched on, the zero current detector is suppressed for
approximately 1 second!
Response to current limit violation
(can only be parameterized for high feature motor starters)
This device parameter configures how the motor starter responds to a current
limit violation:
Warning
Tripping
System state Current value Protection by:
System becomes sluggish (e.g. due to
damaged bearings)
System runs more smoothly (e.g.
because there is no material left to pro-
cess).
Current is greater
or
less than normal
