8.1 Overview
The integrated electronic overload protection for motor starter enables coverage of
the current range up to 12 A with only two device versions. The ET 200pro motor
starters can be parameterized and enable access to comprehensive diagnosis and
statistical data. The PC configuration tool 'Motor Starter ES', version 2006 or higher,
is available for this purpose.
A connection can be set up to the motor starter in two ways:
1. Locally via the optical device interface of the motor starter
2. Remotely at the PROFIBUS DP via DPV1
Caution
The operation of 3-phase motors in a star-shaped circuit can lead to high EMC
interference (especially if < 1 kW). Interference exceeding the IEC limits values
can lead to functional impairments or failure of the electronics. In the event of
high EMC interference, we recommend using motors with EMC protective cir-
cuits.
(Exception: electronic starters may not be operated with an EMC protective cir-
cuit).
The best filter effect is achieved with 3-phase RC screening modules.
Varistor screening modules should not be used, as these only inadequately filter
our rapid transients.
8.1.1 Motor starters
The ET 200pro motor starters are offered as direct (DSe) and reversing starters
(RSe), each in two versions:
• Standard series (short description: DSe ST, RSe ST)
– optionally with activation for externally supplied brake with 400 V
– without digital inputs
• High feature series (short description for direct starter: DSe HF, RSe HF)
– optionally with activation for externally supplied brake with 400 V
– With 4 digital inputs
– with extended parameterization options
