10.18.2 Commands
Commands and their meanings
Using the commands, you can instruct the motor starter to carry out certain
actions.
Using the Switch ES configuration software, for example, you can send the fol-
lowing commands to the motor starter:
Caution!
Command is executed immediately!
You can only switch from the 'Manual' to the 'Automatic' operating mode when
the motor and brake output are switched off.
Command Meaning
Trip reset • Resets and acknowledges
error messages
• Resets signaling bits

Delete maximum pointer Deletes statistical data
’preventive diagnosis’
Logbook – delete trips Deletes logbook with recorded error causes
Logbook – delete events Deletes logbook with recorded warning mes-
sages and certain actions
Factory setting All parameter are restored to factory setting
except for the communication parameters.
Only possible in operating mode 'Manual'!
Parameter block CPU / Master ON Motor starter ignores parameterization by mas-
ter (PLC)
Parameter block CPU / Master OFF Motor starter accepts parameterization by mas-
ter (PLC)
Emergency start ON Enable device function 'Emergency start'
Emergency start OFF Disable device function 'Emergency start'
Operating mode 'Automatic' Control via PLC;
cyclical and acyclical bus channel (C1)
Operating mode 'Manual' • Control via PC; acyclical bus channel (C2)
• Control via device interface
Restart Motor starter restarts
(same effect as Power OFF / ON).
Only possible in operating mode 'Manual'!
