10.18.3 Plausibility check of data
Description
The motor starer checks that all the incoming parameters are valid and plausi-
ble.
In the event of incorrect parameters
• During startup (after Power ON), the signals 'General fault' and 'Incorrect
parameter value' are displayed.
Motor and brake output remain switched off.
• During operation, the signals 'Incorrect parameter value' or 'Parameters can-
not be set in ON state' are displayed. 'General fault' is not displayed.
Motor and brake output are not switched off.
10.18.4 Output of signals
The control function 'Communication' delivers the following signals:
Signals Meaning
General signals
Ready (Automatic) Device ready for operation via host (e.g.
PLC)
Group error At least 1 error has been set
General warning At least 1 warning is present
Process image error The process output image contains an
invalid bit combination (e.g. 'Motor
CLOCKWISE' and 'Motor COUNTER-
CLOCKWISE' set simultaneously).
Field bus connectivity
Bus fault Device has no rear-wall bus communica-
tion (interface ESSA3 to controller dis-
rupted)
CPU / master STOP PLC program is no longer processed
Acknowledgment
Trip reset is carried out Trip reset accepted, i.e. error has been
acknowledged.
Trip reset not possible Fault could not be acknowledged since
cause of error still present.
Operating mode monitoring
Operating mode Automatic Automatic (PLC controls)
Operating mode Manual bus Manual operation via field bus (control
device controls)
Operating mode 'Manual operation local' Manual operation via local device interface
(control device controls)
Manual operation connection abort During manual operation, the correspond-
ing communication link was interrupted for
longer than 5 seconds
