4.1 Commissioning
The motor starter modules are parameterized using the PROFIBUS DP standard
procedure on start-up. A change to parameters as well as use of a control
device can also be made during operation alternatively via bus and the DP V1
mechanism or via the optical device interface locally.
The parameter 'Group diagnosis' can be set to 'disable' or 'enable'. With 'dis-
able', no fault messages are issued. In this case, the SF LED is no longer acti-
vated by the interface module IM 154-. when a device diagnosis message
occurs.
A device error can only be acknowledged via Power Off / On (1L+). If the incor-
rect response is repeated, the motor starter is defective.
All other errors can be acknowledged via 'Trip reset'.
Caution
Make sure that you comply with the voltage tolerance for the load voltage sup-
ply 2L+ (contactor and power electronics) up to 55°C: 20.4 V to 28.8 V.
Current setting
On all motor starters, you parameterize the current setting using the software
GSD file (devices master data file) or HW Config.
External short-circuit protection
Safety guideline
External short-circuit protection
If the short-circuit current at the installation point of the motor starter can
exceed the rated limit short circuit-breaking capacity (100 kA/400 V) of the inte-
grated fuses, you must implement additional external short-circuit protection
(fuse or circuit breaker), see also Chapter 7.4.
