After overload or short-circuit tripping
• Following a short circuit, the internal fusible links and switching elements of
motor starters can be defective.
• Following an overload tripping – fusible links OK – you have the possibility to
reset the overload tripping.
Reset possibilities are:
– Remote reset (via bus interface)
- Cyclical process image (trip reset)
- Via command 'Trip reset'
– Local reset (via command)
– Trip reset via a parameterized input action at input 1-4
(only in the case of high feature motor starters)
Caution
A reset is only accepted if the parameterized recovery time is undershot before-
hand.

Reset by operating the rotary switch.
Disconnecting a load from the power supply
By turning the rotary switch on the maintenance isolating module to the OFF
position, you have the possibility to disconnect downstream consumer units
from the mains network.
Caution
Disconnecting a consumer unit during operation (i.e. under load) is not permit-
ted.
Reversing starters
Use the user program to ensure before a change of direction that the drive is
switched to "STOP" mode and remains in stop until the motor has stopped turn-
ing.
