Producing Models
TheObjet1000Plusprinterproducesmodelsbyprintingtrayfilesprepared
intheObjetStudioapplicationandsenttotheprinterfromthere.For
informationaboutpreparingmodelfilesforprinting,see “UsingObjet
Studio”inthisuserguideorObjetStudioHelp.
Preparing the
Printer
ThebuildtrayfortheObjet1000Plusprinterisremovable,whichaidsinthe
removalandhandlingofprintedmodels.Makesurethatthebuildtrayis
installedwhenpreparingtheprinterforproducingmodels.
To prepare the printer for producing models:
1. Makesurethatthebuildtrayintheprinterisemptyandclean.Ifnot,
removecuredmaterialwiththescraper,andcleanthetraythoroughly
withawetcleaningcloth.
2. Checkthattheprintheadsandrollerassemblyareclean.Ifnot,clean
thembeforeprinting,especiallyif theprint
jobislongerthan100
hours.
3. MakesurethatthereissufficientModelandSupportmaterialloaded,
asindicatedintheprinterinterface(seefigure 6‐3).Youmaywantto
replacethecontainersofModelandSupportmaterialcurrentlyloaded
intheprintertoavoidtheneedforreplacingthemduring
printing.
4. Ontheprinterinterface,clicktheredbuttontoswitchtheprinterto
onlinemode.
Thecolorofthebuttonchangesfromredtogreen(seefigure 6‐5).If
thereisajobintheJobManagerqueue,itissenttotheprinter.
Beforeprintingajob,thesoftware
executesasetofhardwareandsoftware
teststoensureoptimumprintingresults.Intheprinterinterface,theprinter
modechangesfromIdletoPre‐print,astheprinter’scomponentsprepare
themselvesforproduction:
• Theprintblockisheated.
• TheUVlampsarepoweredandtheywarmup.
Before beginning to produce models, it is recommended that you check the
current printing quality of the print heads by performing a pattern test (see
“Pattern Test” on page 25).
CAUTION: Use protective gloves when cleaning the build tray, and be
careful of the sharp edges of the scraper blade.
