CBCOMP (Cable Compensation)
This keyword provides a method for compensating Composite Clock (CC) outputs
for cable delays by entering the approximate number of feet of cable from the CC
output to where the signal is being used. The effect of using this setting is to cause
the CC output to be moved earlier in time so that it can arrive at the point of usage
as if the cable transit time is effectively zero. The conversion factor used for this
setting is that 1 foot of cable has an associated delay of 1.63 nanoseconds.
The compensation amount can be set uniquely for groups of 20 output ports.
Ports 1-20 can have a single value, and ports 21-40 can have a different value.
PG1 and PG2 are part of the AID in the TL1 command, which is what distinguishes
which group of 20 ports will be set.
Each port can be set to either have no compensation or have the amount set by the
CBCOMP setting. See keyword CCDENB.
It is also possible to set adjust the CC delay using the CCDEL (CC Delay) keyword.
CCDEL provides a method for making the adjustment based on time (in
nanoseconds) rather than length of cable. CBCOMP and CCDEL are interrelated. If
the value of either keyword is changed, a corresponding change will occur in the
value for the other keyword. The keyword format is:
CBCOMP=<value>
Note:
This feature is available in firmware versions 4209C and later.
Command Examples:
Set the CC compensation for expansion shelf 1 (S1-) output card group C,
ports 1-20 (PG1) to 100.
ED-EQPT::S1-OUTC-PG1:SV322:::CBCOMP=100;
This is the response:
