ECLKEXP (Expected Expansion Controller Card)
This keyword provides a method for establishing whether or not an expansion shelf
(or shelves) is expected to be part of the TimeHub system. Since an expansion shelf
cannot function without at least one expansion controller (EC) card,
communication from the master shelf with an EC card in a given expansion shelf is
used as the method for determining whether or not there is a functioning
expansion shelf connected. The keyword format is:
ECLKEXP=<value>
There is automatic behavior associated with this keyword. Whenever
communication with an EC card occurs, the associated ECLKEXP value is
automatically set to Y. The benefit of this is that there is no need to explicitly
establish that connection to a particular expansion shelf is expected. The
underlying assumption is that connection to an EC card would not occur if there
was not intention to actually use the expansion shelf associated with it. Setting
ECLKEXP to N while communication with that EC card is continuing will cause the
ECLKEXP value to be automatically be returned to Y.
If it is desired to remove an expansion shelf from a TimeHub system, the ECLKEXP
settings for EC cards in that shelf should be set to N after the shelf connection has
been removed. This will prevent the EXCLKGONE condition from being reported for
those EC cards.
Command Examples:
Retrieve the current setting of ECLKEXP for expansion shelf 2 (S2-) for the right
side expansion controller card (CLK2).
Note:
For each expansion shelf, the left side EC card (labeled EC1 on the shelf) is
identified by CLK1. The right side EC card (labeled EC2 on the shelf) is identified by
CLK2.
RTRV-EQPT::S2-CLK2:SV01:::PARAMETER=ECLKEXP;
Parameter Value Description
<value> Y Communication with the identified expansion controller card is
expected. If communication with this card is not taking place, an
EXCLKGONE event will be generated (refer to command
example).
N Communication with the identified expansion controller card is
NOT expected.
