SELMDE (Selection Mode)
This keyword controls whether the selection of the active timing reference will be
performed automatically by the TimeHub 5500 or directly selected by the user.
Note:
This keyowrd is only available in clock card firmware versions 4236B or
later. Firmware version can be observed in RTRV-NETYPE-ALL response.
The keyword format is:
SELMDE=<value>
Parameter Value Description
<value> AUTO TimeHub will automatically select the qualified input to use
as the active timing reference. The actual choice will
depend on PRIORITY and SYNCMDE (see those keyword
topics for details).
MANUAL When selected, an attempt will be made to use the
requested channel as the active timing reference. The
requested channel is determined by the MANCHAN
setting (see MANCHAN keyword).
If the requested channel is not qualified at the time SELMDE
is set to MANUAL, the SELMDE setting will become AUTO.
Once the MANUAL setting has been accepted, if the
requested channel later becomes disqualified for any
reason, the SELMDE setting will become auto.
FORCED When selected, an attempt will be made to use the
requested channel as the active timing reference. The
requested channel is determined by the MANCHAN
setting (see MANCHAN keyword).
If the requested channel is not qualified at the time SELMDE
is set to FORCED, the clock card will enter holdover mode
(even if there are other qualified inputs). If the requested
channel subsequently becomes qualified, it will become
the active timing reference. The SELMDE setting will remain
FORCED until changed by command.
