Command Types
TL1 commands are used to perform the following management tasks:
•Security
•Provisioning
• System administration
• Performance monitoring
Security
Security commands are used when switch S1-1 on the management card has been
set to On (password required). These commands are used to protect system
resources and information from unauthorized users. These commands are
described in the Commands chapter.
Provisioning
Provisioning commands are used in conjunction with keywords to set up and
configure the system. These commands are described in the Commands chapter.
Keywords are described in the Keywords chapter.
System Administration
System administration commands are used to set and retrieve system information,
and force changes in system operation. These commands are described in the
Commands chapter.
Performance Monitoring
Performance monitoring commands are used to retrieve network performance
information, improve network performance, and identify possible future problems.
These commands are described in the Performance Monitoring chapter.
Automatic Messages and Alarm Management
Automatic messages are classified as alarmed or non-alarmed events, and cause a
message to be displayed and recorded in the system logs. Events are configured by
using the provisioning commands to set thresholds, values, and conditions. Events
and alarms are described in the Troubleshooting chapter.
