7.6 The Power Cycle Alarm
The Power Cycle Alarm can provide notification when all input power to the TSM/RSM
unit is lost and then restored. When the power supply is lost and then restored, the
TSM/RSM can provide notification via Email, Syslog Message or SNMP Trap.
Notes:
• ThePowerCyclealarmcanprovidenotificationwhenallinputpowertothe
TSM/RSMunitislostandthenrestored.Thisalarmwillnotfunctionindual
powerinletmodelswhenonlyonepowerinputlineisdisconnected.To
providenotificationwhenonlyonepowerinputlineislostordisconnected,
pleaseusetheLostVoltage(LineIn)AlarmasdescribedinSection7.10.
• InorderfortheTSM/RSMtoprovidealarmnotificationviaEmail,
communicationparametersmustfirstbedefinedasdescribedin
Section5.9.11.
• InorderfortheTSM/RSMtoprovidealarmnotificationviaSyslogMessage,
SyslogparametersmustfirstbedefinedandSyslogMessagesmustbe
enabledasdescribedinSection5.9.2andSection11.
• InorderfortheTSM/RSMtoprovidealarmnotificationviaSNMPTrap,SNMP
parametersmustfirstbedefined,andSNMPTrapsmustbeenabledas
describedinSection5.9.7andSection12.
To configure the Power Cycle Alarm, you must access the TSM/RSM command mode
using a password that permits Administrator Level commands. The Power Cycle Alarm
configuration menu offers the following parameters:
• TriggerEnable: Enables/Disables the trigger for this alarm. When Disabled, this
alarm will be suppressed. (Default = On)
Note:
• Whenanalarmisgenerated,tocancelanalarmwithoutcorrectingthe
conditionthatcausedthealarm,simplytoggletheTriggerEnableparameter
OffandthenbackOnagain.
• TheTriggerEnable,EmailMessageandAddress1,2and3Parametersall
include"CopytoAllTriggers"optionsthatallowyoutoenable/disablethe
correspondingparameterforallTSM/RSMalarms.Forexample,ifthePower
CycleAlarm'sTriggerEnableparameterissetto"On(CopytoAllTriggers),
thenotherTSM/RSMalarmswillalsobeenabled.
• EmailMessage: Enables/Disables email notification for this alarm. (Default = On)
• Address1,2,and3: These parameters are used to select which of the three email
addresses defined via the "Email Messages" menu (see Section 5.9.11) will receive
the email alarm notification messages generated by this alarm. The Address
parameters can be used to select one, or any combination of the addresses defined
via the Email Messages menu. (Default = All On)
Note:IfEmailaddresseshavebeenpreviouslyspecified,thenthetextunder
theparameterswilllistthecurrent,userdefinedemailaddresses.
• Subject: This parameter is used to define the text that will appear in the "Subject"
field for all email notification messages generated by this alarm. (Default = "Alarm:
Power Cycle")
