9.3.2. Switching and Reboot Commands - Text Interface
Note:PowerswitchingandrebootfunctionsareonlyavailableonRSM-8R8
Seriesunits.StandardTSMSeriesunitsandstandardRSMSeriesunitsdonot
supportpowercontrolfunctions.
These commands can be used to switch or reboot the RSM-8R8 Series unit’s switched
plugs, and can also be used to set plugs to the user-defined Power-Up Default values.
Plugs may be specified by name or number.
Notes:
• Ifanasteriskappearsinthe"Status"columnforanygivenplug,thisindicates
thattheplugiscurrentlybusy,processingapreviouslyissuedcommand.
• Ifaswitchingorrebootcommandisdirectedtoaplugthatisalreadybusy
completingapreviouscommand,thenthenewcommandwillbeplacedina
queueuntiltheplugisreadytoreceiveadditionalcommands.
• AdministratorandSuperUserlevelaccountscanusethePortandPlugStatus
Screentodisplayinformationforallserialportsandswitchedoutlets.
• UserandViewOnlylevelaccountscanonlyusethePortandPlugStatus
Screentodisplayinformationforserialportsandoutletsthatareallowedby

• TextInterfacecommandsarenotcasesensitive.WhenusedinOn/Off/
Rebootcommandlines,plugnamesandpluggroupnamesarealsonot
casesensitive.
When switching and reboot commands are executed, the RSM-8R8 Series unit will
display a "Sure?" prompt, wait for user response, and then complete the command. The
unit will pause for a moment while the command is executed, and then return to the Port
and Plug Status Screen.
To Switch Plugs, or initiate a Reboot Cycle, proceed as follows:
1. SwitchPlug(s)On: To power-on a plug or Plug Group, type /ON n and press
[Enter]. Where "n" is the number or name of the desired plug or Plug Group. For
example:
/ON 1 [Enter] or /ON ROUTER [Enter]
