For example, to create SVLAN 10 and administratively enable it, enter:
-> vlan svlan 10 enable
To administratively disable an SVLAN when you configure it, enter svlan followed by the SVLAN ID
number and disable.
For example, to create SVLAN 10 and administratively disable it enter:
-> vlan svlan 10 disable
To assign a name to an SVLAN when you configure it, enter svlan followed by the SVLAN ID number,
name, and a text description, which can be up to 32 characters long.
Note. If a text description has spaces the name must be enclosed within quotes (e.g., “SVLAN 10”)
For example, to create SVLAN 10 and name it “SVLAN10” enter:
-> vlan svlan 10 name SVLAN10
Note. You can use the name keyword with the enable and disable keywords (e.g., svlan 10 enable name
SVLAN10).
Deleting an SVLAN
Use the no form of the vlan svlan command to delete an SVLAN or a range of SVLANs and all ports
associated with the SVLAN. For example, to delete SVLAN 10 enter:
-> no vlan svlan 10
Configuring VLAN Stacking Ports
To configure a port or a link aggregate with the VLAN Stacking capability, use the vlan svlan port
command by entering vlan svlan port, followed by the slot/port number and the type of port (user-
customer- port, user-provider-port, or network-port). For example, to configure port 1/1 as a network
port enter:
-> vlan svlan port 1/1 network-port
Note the following when configuring the type of VLAN Stacking port:
A user-customer port is a VLAN Stacking user port that carries customer traffic. Specifying a default
customer SVLAN is required when configuring this port type.
-> vlan svlan port 1/2 user-customer-port default-svlan 1001
A user-provider port is a VLAN Stacking user port that carries provider management traffic. Specify-
ing a default provider SVLAN is required when configuring this type of port.
-> vlan svlan port 1/3 user-provider-port default-svlan 1001
The default SVLAN type must also match the type of port. User-customer ports are associated only
with customer SVLANs; user-provider ports are associated only with provider SVLANs.
