9.5.5 Procedure for Web Center-Line Guiding
9.5.5.1 Automatic Material Setup
This chapter describes the normal procedure for saving the
bright / dark values for the web center-line guiding.
1. Remove any material that may be present from the connected
edge sensors and clean the sensor scanning areas.
2. Select both sensors by simultaneously pressing keys Sensor1
and Sensor2.
The LEDs of both keys illuminate.
3. Activate the automatic material setup (see Activating the
Material Setup, page 87).
The adjacent screen appears in the display for sensor 1.
The animation shows the operating steps necessary for
generating the bright / dark values for sensor 1:
The hand moves the material into the sensor scanning area
(dark value) and back out again (bright value).
4. Completely clear the scanning area of sensor 1 (no material in
the scanning area).
The bright value measured is displayed.
5. Completely cover the scanning area of sensor 1 with the
material to be scanned for at least 2 seconds.
The dark value measured is displayed.
6. Press the ENTER key.
The bright / dark values determined for sensor 1 are saved.
The adjacent screen appears in the display for sensor 2.
The animation shows the operating steps necessary for
generating the bright / dark values for sensor 2:
The hand moves the material into the sensor scanning area
(dark value) and back out again (bright value).
7. Completely clear the scanning area of sensor 2 (no material in
the scanning area).
The bright value measured is displayed.
8. Completely cover the scanning area of sensor 2 with the
material to be scanned for at least 2 seconds.
The dark value measured is displayed.
9. Press the ENTER key.
The bright / dark values determined for sensor 2 are saved.
The material setup is completed.
ð The operation screen is displayed.
