Overview
The storm control feature allows you to control unknown-unicast and broadcast traffic on Layer 2, Layer 3,
and multicast physical interfaces.
Configuring Storm Control
Storm control is supported in INTERFACE mode and CONFIGURATION mode
Configuring Storm Control from INTERFACE Mode
To configure storm control, use the storm control command from INTERFACE mode.
You can only configure storm control for ingress traffic in INTERFACE mode. If you configure storm
control from both INTERFACE and CONFIGURATION mode, the INTERFACE mode configurations
override the CONFIGURATION mode configurations.
Configuring Storm Control from CONFIGURATION Mode
To configure storm control, use the storm control command from CONFIGURATION mode.
FTOS Behavior: The Dell Force10 operating software (FTOS) supports broadcast control
(storm-control broadcast command) for Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic.
FTOS Behavior: The minimum number of packets per second (PPS) that storm control can limit is
two.
