Dec 29 17:19:26:E:System: LP15/TM1 has shutdown (TM Internal Error: LP15/TM1
(Reg: 0x444, Value: 0x70000) (shutdown))
TM_Q_SCANNER
TM_Q_SCANNER event type monitors the traffic queues in the TM. If traffic is not flowing smoothly
through the queues TM_Q_SCANNER event type will generate error messages. Here is an example
from Syslog.
Jan 8 11:48:29:E:System: ALARM:LP3/TM1 has shutdown (TM Q Stuck: LP3/TM1 (Queue
1024, Size 50331648, Credit 2047, RdPtr 0x0) (shutdown))]
Jan 8 11:48:19:E:System: ALARM:LP3/TM1 re-initialized (TM Q Stuck: LP3/TM1
(Queue 1024, Size 50331648, Credit 2047, RdPtr 0x0) (QDP reinit))
Jan 8 11:48:19:E:System: ALARM:LP3/TM1 QDP re-initialized (TM Q Stuck: LP3/TM1
(Queue 1024, Size 50331648, Credit 2047, RdPtr 0x0) (QDP reinit))
FE_FIFO
SYSMON can detect persistent congestion in a FIFO block, which can be due to either bad and
unstable links or to too many multicast packets received.
The event type FE_FIFO doesnot generate any syslog messages.
TCAM_SCAN
The event type TCAM_SCAN check each entry of the TCAM memory on the line card to determine if
an error has occurred. To detect an error, TCAM_SCAN event validates all entries in the TCAM
memory during Line card boot up and it periodically checks for bad TCAM entry on the operational
Line card. Here is an example from Syslog.
Dec 31 13:51:42:E:System: ALARM:LP1/TM1 has shutdown (LP1/NP1 TCAM failure
(shutdown))
PKT_PATH_SCAN
The event type PKT_PATH_SCAN monitor the internal path of the packet from the line card’s CPU
through the Switch fabric and back to the line card. Here is an example from Syslog.
INFO:Oct 27 09:14:14: LP5/NP1 packet path diagnostic failure (tx 6, rx 0, tx_err
0, rx_err 5, rx_data_err 0)
Only error counts in the red (tx_err or rx_data_err) should be reported to Brocade Technical Support.
DRAM_CRC
The event type DRAM_CRC monitors a special type of monitoring register which stores the number
of DRAM CRC errors. This enables us to detect severe CRC errors quickly. Here is an example from
Syslog.
