5.5 Parking the e-bike
To park your e-bike:
1. Hold your e-bike with both hands.
2. If your e-bike has a kickstand
13
, unfold it.
Make sure that the kickstand locks
into place properly.
3. Carefully lean your e-bike on the kick-
stand or against a stable support or
holder (e.g. a wall or bike stand).
4. If possible, remove the battery or secure
the battery with the integrated battery lock.
Please refer to the information in
chapter 13.3 “Inserting and removing the
battery from the e-bike”.
WARNING!
Explosion hazard
Batteries can explode when exposed to
high heat.
Never leave your e-bike with the bat-
tery inserted in a place where the
e-bike or battery is exposed to high
heat (e.g. direct sunlight).
5. Secure your e-bike and any other com-
ponents with a suitable lock against theft

5.6 Transporting cargo or
children
5.6.1 Luggage rack
WARNING!
Risk of accident and injury
If luggage impairs your movements
and/or handling of your e-bike, acci-
dents and serious injuries may result.
Calculate the additional weight of the
luggage: This weight changes the
handling characteristics of the e-bike
and increases the braking distance.
Do not attach luggage to the handle-
bars.
14
Make sure that pieces of luggage
cannot get caught in moving parts
of the e-bike.
NOTE! Risk of damage!
Overloaded or incorrectly mounted
racks can result in damage to the e-bike.
Always observe the specifications for
the maximum load of the rack and the
permissible total weight of your e-bike.
Never attach the rack to the seat post.
Keep the following points in mind when
transporting luggage:
Load the rack so that it does not interfere
with your cycling and so that all lighting
components (headlight, rear light, reflec-
tors) are still clearly visible.
Align the luggage centrally on the rack
and secure it against slipping and falling
(e.g. with lashing straps).
Fasten the lashing straps in such a
way that neither lashing straps nor pieces
of luggage get caught in moving parts of
the e-bike.
When using bicycle bags: Only use suit-
able products from the specialist dealers.
5.6.2 Child seat
i
Important: Depending on the
model, attaching a child seat to your
e-bike is not permitted.
14 Exception: Approved and suitable handlebar bags
securely attached to the handlebars.
