Your e-bike may have quick releases for
attaching the wheel set, seat post, saddle,
stem or handlebars.
• To open a clamp, open the quick-release
lever.
• To close the open clamp again, fold down
the quick-release lever completely.
In the closed state, the quick-release
lever must lie tightly or maximally on the
associated component (frame, fork, seat
post, etc.)!
• If the clamping force is not high enough,
you must tighten the adjusting nut on the
quick release. The clamping lever must
be open for this purpose.
• If the clamping force is too high and you
cannot close the quick release, you must
open the clamping lever and loosen the
adjusting nut a little.
Important: Have work on quick-re-
leases carried out by a FLYER spe-
cialist dealer only. These components
are safety-related components; faulty
work and incorrect tools can result in
serious falls.
22 Quick-release axles
In the current frameset, quick-release axles
can also be used instead of quick releases
or bolts to attach the wheel set.
Quick-release axles work similarly to quick
releases: The quick-release axle is screwed
into the dropout and holds the hub between the
two fork legs. The hub and axle are clamped
with the quick-release lever, which is operated
like a quick release. There are also systems
where the axle is only inserted or screwed in
and then fixed with a screw connection.
Important: Follow the manufacturer's
instructions for your quick-release axle
and have a FLYER specialist dealer
explain the system to you in detail.
Important: Have work on quick-re-
lease axles carried out by a FLYER
specialist dealer only. These com-
ponents are safety-related compo-
nents; faulty work and incorrect
tools can result in serious falls.
23 Lights
The energy for the lighting system of your
e-bike is supplied by the battery of the elec-
tric drive system.
Important: When the battery is
empty, the light function is still guar-
anteed for about one hour.
• To operate the lighting components on
your e-bike, follow the manufacturer's
instructions for your electric drive.
• Should malfunctions occur, have the light-
ing system checked by a FLYER special-
ist dealer and replaced if necessary.
Important: Not every FLYER e-bike
is equipped with the required light-
ing components upon delivery in
order to be approved for participa-
tion in road traffic.
• Have the required equipment (lights,
reflectors, etc.) retrofitted by your FLYER
specialist dealer if you wish to use your
e-bike in public road traffic.
Headlight
The headlight must be aligned so that the
road is illuminated according to the legal
requirements of your country.
Reflectors
Observe the following points when attaching
the reflectors:
• Ensure that the reflectors are mounted
correctly and that the reflectors are not
obscured by other components, clothing
or accessories.
• Check reflectors and their attachment for
cleanliness, correct and tight fit, and dam-
age before each ride.
• Reflectors may not be modified.
Have damaged reflectors repaired or
replaced.
Brake light
• If your e-bike is equipped with a brake
light, regularly make sure that the brake
light is working properly.
In case of doubt or problems, contact
your FLYER specialist dealer.
