Invoke a terminal application such as
RealTerm.
To check COM port number and other settings,
see the Device Manager in PC. For WinXP;
Control panel → System → Hardware tab.
Run this query command via the terminal after
the instrument has been configured for USB,
RS-232 or GPIB remote control.

This should return Model number, Serial number
and Firmware version in the format below:
GPT-12004 ,GPT12000 ,V1.00
Model number : GPT-12004
Serial number :8 characters serial number
Firmware version : V1.00
CR, LF, CR+LF can be used as the terminal
character when entering queries/commands from a
terminal application. Refer to page 195 for details.
When the panel is being remotely controlled via
the USB, RS232, LAN or GPIB interfaces, the
RMT indicator will be displayed on the screen.
