Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1. Enable multicast on all the switches providing multicast services. The multicast function
must be enabled before you enable IGMP.
2. Enable PIM-SM on all the VLANIF interfaces of the switches.
3. Enable IGMP on the VLANIF interfaces connected to user hosts.
4. Add GE1/0/0 of SwitchA to the multicast group 225.1.1.1 statically to enable user hosts to
receive stable multicast data.
5. Set the maximum number of IGMP group memberships on SwitchA.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l Version of IGMP running between switches and user hosts
l Static multicast group address, 225.1.1.1
l Maximum number of member relationships in an IGMP group
