2.9.1 Example for Configuring IGMP Snooping
Networking Requirements
As shown in Figure 2-2, GE 3/0/1 of the S7700 is connected to a router on the multicast source
side, and GE 1/0/1 is connected to hosts. You are required to configure IGMP snooping to ensure
that three hosts in VLAN 3 can receive multicast data from multicast groups in the range of
225.1.1.1 to 225.1.1.3 permanently.

Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1. Create a VLAN and add interfaces to the VLAN.
2. Enable IGMP snooping globally and in the VLAN.
3. Configure a static router interface.
4. Configure static multicast groups 225.1.1.1, 225.1.1.2, and 225.1.1.3.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l ID of the VLAN that GE 1/0/1 and GE 3/0/1 belong to: VLAN 3
