11.7.4 (Optional) Configuring the Router Alert Option in MLD
Messages
Context
To configure whether MLD messages contain the Router Alert option, do as follows on the
S7700.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
vlan vlan-id
The VLAN view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
mld-snooping require-router-alert
The S7700 is configured to process only the MLD messages that contain the Router Alert option
in the IP header.
Step 4 Run:
mld-snooping send-router-alert
The S7700 is configured to send only the MLD messages that contain the Router Alert option
in the IP header.
By default, the S7700 processes all MLD messages and sends the MLD messages with the Router
Alert to the VLAN.
Step 3 and Step 4 are optional and can be performed in a random order.

Context
To enable the MLD snooping module to respond to changes of the Layer 2 network topology,
do as follows on the S7700.
Procedure
