Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
l Assign IP addresses to interfaces on switches.
l Configure IS-IS to implement interworking among all the switches and ensure that route
costs are the same.
l Enable multicast on all the switches, enable PIM-SM on all the interfaces, and set the
loopback interface on Switch A as an RP.
l Configure stable-preferred multicast load splitting on Switch E to ensure the stability of
multicast services.
l HostA needs to receive data from some multicast groups for a long period. Add the host-
side interfaces of Switch E to multicast groups in batches.
l HostA needs to receive data from a new multicast group. According to networking
requirements, set different multicast load splitting weights for upstream interfaces on
Switch E to ensure that multicast traffic is distributed unevenly.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l IP address of the multicast source
l IP addresses of interfaces on the switches
l Addresses of the multicast groups to which the host-side interfaces of Switch E are added
in batches
l Multicast load splitting weights of upstream interfaces on Switch E
