Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
l Assign IPv6 addresses to interfaces on switches.
l Configure IS-IS IPv6 to implement interworking among switches and ensure that route
costs are the same.
l Enable multicast on switches, enable IPv6 PIM-SM on each interface, and set the loopback
interface on SwitchA as an RP.
l Configure stable-preferred IPv6 multicast load splitting on SwitchE to ensure the stability
of IPv6 multicast services.
l Host A needs to receive data from some multicast groups for a long period. Configure the
interfaces on the host side of SwitchE to statically join multicast groups in batches.
l Host A needs to receive data from a new multicast group. According to networking
requirements, set different IPv6 multicast load splitting weights for upstream interfaces on
SwitchE to ensure that IPv6 multicast traffic is distributed unevenly.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l IPv6 address of the multicast source
l IPv6 addresses of interfaces on switches
l Address of the multicast group that interfaces on the host side of SwitchE statically join in
batches
l IPv6 multicast load splitting weights of upstream interfaces on SwitchE
