Mitel Wireless LAN Adapter
The Wi-Fi option in the Settings menu of 6900 Series SIP phones allows you to connect the phone to a
Wi-Fi network. The 6940 SIP Phone can be connected to a wireless network using the optional Wireless
LAN Adapter. When connected to the Wireless LAN Adapter, the wireless connection can be configured
through the phone settings.
The Mitel WLAN Adapter is a wireless bridge that can add wireless connectivity functionality to your Mitel
6940 IP phone. It allows your Ethernet-enabled phone to join a secure, high-speed network. It is soft-
ware-transparent, that is, no changes to drivers, management tools, or applications are needed to use
this adapter.

The Mitel Wireless LAN Adapter is a high-performance wireless network adapter that enables any
Ethernet device to function as an 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band wireless network device, giving you the
freedom to place it anywhere in your facility.
• Dual band IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n support
The Mitel Wireless LAN Adapter is designed to communicate in the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz bands. Radio
interference in the commonly used 2.4-GHz band can be avoided by utilizing the 5-GHz band.
• Gigabit Ethernet support
The wired LAN port supports 10/100/1000BASE-T (auto-recognition).
• Simple to setup and use
The Mitel Wireless LAN Adapter is easy to set up using the enclosed network setup cable. No special
drivers or software are required.
• Enterprise security
The Mitel Wireless LAN Adapter supports the following security functions and standards:
– WEP (64 Bit/128 Bit)
– WPA-PSK (TKIP/AES)
– WPA2-PSK (AES)
