Voltage Checks at Solenoid Connector (Disconnect s olenoid. Turn the ignition switch to ON.)

If < B+, check for open circuit. Do Harness Resistance
Checks.
B to gnd 0 V to 0.25 V
If > 0.25 V, check ECM programming or open circuit.
Output State Test - Voltage Check at Shutter Connector (D
isconnect solenoid. Turn the ignition switch to
ON. Run the Output State Tests. For help, see “Diagnosti
c Software Operation” in Section 3 (page 68) for
procedure to run the Low and High Output State Tests.)

B to gnd cable
>1kΩ If < 1 kΩ, check for short to ground.
Harness Resistance Checks
(Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect solenoid. Connect breakout
box X3 to chassis wiring ha

X3–22 to B
<5Ω If > 5 Ω, check for harness open between ECM and fan
solenoid.
AtoFuse
<5Ω If > 5 Ω, check for harness open between fuse and fan
solenoid. See truck Chassis Electrical Circuit Diagram
