Boot options
Note:
Access to a console is only disabled when the TiMOS image is loaded. Console access remains
unchanged during the boot loader stage of the boot up process. That is, the bof command takes
effect only when the node is booted with the TiMOS image.
4.9 Initial system startup process flow
The following figure shows the process to start your system. This example assumes that the boot loader
and BOF image and configuration files are successfully located.

4.10 Configuration notes
This section describes BOF configuration guidelines:
• The loading sequence is based on the order in which the sequence is placed in the configuration file. It
is loaded as it is read during bootup.
4.11 Configuring boot file options with CLI
This section provides information to configure BOF parameters with CLI.
4.11.1 BOF configuration overview
Nokia routers do not contain a boot EEPROM. The bootstrap image is loaded from the boot.tim file. The
BOF performs the following tasks:
