Allow the solution to soak for one minute then activate the waste
pump by pressing Pump (see Figure 4-9).

If the fluid is:
successfully aspirated… not successfully aspirated…
The waste line is patent.
Proceed to step 9.
There is a blockage, which has not
cleared yet. Proceed to step 7.
7.
When a blockage persists:
Repeat steps 4 through 6 allowing additional time to soak and
breakup the blockage.
Use the nylon line provided in the Sample Path Obstruction Tools
kit to physically breakup the blockage.
WARNING: DO NOT force any object other than the nylon line
through the analyzer waste line.
8.
If the blockage is:
Successfully cleared… Not successfully cleared…
Proceed to step 9.
Press
to return to the Options
menu. Disassemble the lower module
and determine location of blockage.
Replace the waste pump, waste pump
head and tubing as necessary.
