ABL77 Service Manual Chapter 8: Maintenance
Cleaning, Continued
Waste drain
Blood and protein residue can build up in the analyzer’s waste drain over time.
Periodic cleaning of this line is recommended to prevent significant buildup of
residue.
The following fluidic procedure can be used both as a preventive measure and can
act as a decontamination procedure for the analyzer.
Blood proteins will generally not accrue in the valve bank portion of the analyzer
because samples do not traverse beyond the sensor cassette tubing during normal
use.
Follow these steps to clean the waste drain.
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect waste fluids flowing from open luers.
