Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)
RDP enables network access to applications that are executed on a Windows Terminal Server.
In this process the RDP regulates transmission of screen content and keyboard and mouse
inputs over the network.
Screen
Form of the visualization of all logically related process data for a plant. The visualization of
the process data can be supported by graphic objects.
Sm@rtServer
The Sm@rtServer option from SIMATIC WinCC (TIA Portal) enables communication between
HMI systems based on Ethernet networks or via the Intranet/Internet. This enables an HMI
device to be monitored and remotely controlled by another HMI device.
Virtual Network Computing (VNC)
VNC enables network access to applications that are executed on a remote computer
regardless of the platform. In this process the VNC controls transmission of screen content
and keyboard and mouse inputs over the network.
